About Us
At Vavreck Law, LLC, we want to help shoulder this burden. Mark Vavreck established our Minneapolis law firm to assist those harmed by others’ negligent and intentional acts, dedicating his career to providing skillful and innovative legal representation to consumers. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law.
Mark is proud to have served as an Adjunct Professor for the William Mitchell Negotiation program for seven years. In the Negotiation Program at William Mitchell, College of Law, he instructed students in negotiation tactics and nuance, to achieve exceptional skill levels in both competing and dominating 8 other law schools in the region. A pair of Mark’s students finished 5th in the nation, though he is proud of each of his students and the opportunity to give back to his law school and the next generation of lawyers, judges, and advocates.
Professionally, Mark has served as the Co-Chair of the Creditor/Debtor Section of the Hennepin County Bar Association, also serving on the Board of Directors of the Hennepin County Bar Association. He was a member of the Consumer Litigation Section of the Minnesota Bar Association, where he assisted to organize an annual continuing legal education program for the Association. He currently serves as Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Central Minnesota Legal Services. He also presented over 20 continuing legal education seminars, in Minnesota, Colorado, Florida, and at National level.
For more than 20 years, Mark has vigorously protected consumers across the country from illegal debt collection activities and inaccurate credit reporting. He has filed over 1,000 lawsuits on behalf of individual consumers, as well as class actions, to protect consumers against abusive debt collection and to hold creditors and credit reporting agencies liable for negative inaccurate credit reporting. He has settled three consumer class action cases that have included more that 40,000 Minnesotan consumers, obtaining settlement values in excess of $3 million. Mark has been recognized as a Rising Star on six separate occasions by Minnesota Law & Politics Super Lawyers edition. In fact, Mark was the focus of a short article in Super Lawyers in 2009. In addition, he was recognized by former Chief Justice Lorie Gildea on three separate occasions for his effort to serve those most in need in our community through his pro bono work. Mark is proud to work with many generous and dedicated volunteers and staff at organizations like Lutheran Social Services, Family Means, Justice North, Volunteer Attorney Program based in Duluth, the lower 33 counties of Minnesota through the Southern Minnesota Legal Services, and Dakota County Consumer Law clinics.
We Are Recognized Throughout The State For Our Leadership And Commitment To Others
We dedicate our time to educating others, including fellow lawyers, law students and Minnesota residents without legal backgrounds. As a result of this commitment, we remain informed of new updates in personal injury and consumer protection laws on the state and federal level.
